Scott Baird – Lead Singer / Guitarist / Dj /Musical Director at Cliff dive bar Sheraton Maui
Scott was born in London, England and studied music in Northern Vancouver Canada at Cappalano school of music. He has made his home on Maui, Hawaii. He is the band leader and musical director of Maui’s most versatile band, Crazyfingers. He has been the lead guitarist and lead vocalist for this band for over 10 years. Scott is the songwriter and producer for Legalize Happiness and Island Girls, which have produced seven top hits in Hawaii. He has recorded with Ginger Baker of Crème, members of the Bryan Adams band, members of the George Michael’s band.
Scott has shared the stage with Jimmy Buffet, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristopherson, The Black Eyed Peas, The Wailing Souls, Jefferson Airplane, The Doobie Brothers, Los Lobos, Junior Gong, Ziggy Marley, Diana King, Bennie Man, Toots and the Maytals, Pat Travers, members of Loverboy, members of BTO, members of Wild Cherry. Scott attracts a wide audience and has been known to play with local famous artists such as: Fiji, Kapenna, Ten Feet, and Willie K. Other performers such as Prince, George Benson, Sheryl Crow, Randy Meisiner, Stevie Nicks, and Clint Eastwood have traveled in to hear this talented artist at work.
Scotts has played in Canada, Mexico, the South Pacific, and the West Coast of the United States. He has been studying music since the age of ten. His music with Crazy Fingers has sold over 350,000 Cds. Performing at Reggae on the River in 2001 they representing Hawaii to 14,000 people. Or he plays at the beach for private events the couples getting married. He’s also a DJ and has done corporate events for Google Chrome and YouTube . Crazy Fingers performed for Matthew Morrison of Hit show Glee in 2014 he sang with us and other members of the cast preformed with the band. and Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac just performed with Crazy Fingerson on New Year’s Eve 2015.
Rick Bodinus
Rick grew up a Tahitian drummer on Maui, Hawaii whose career has spanned over 27 years. He studied at The Grove School of Music in Hollywood, CA, well known for its Jazz Composition program. Rick has toured extensively throughout Asia. A few famous artists he has played with are: Willie Nelson, Steven Tyler, Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers, and Eddie Veter. Rick’s influences range from John Coltrane to John Bonham. He is truly a dedicated and talented musician.
Franklin Russell
Born in Kansas City Kansas, my musical training started at an early age with piano lessons from my mother who was a music teacher. I took up trumpet with the school music program in Arbor Heights Jr. High school in Omaha Nebraska. I started playing keyboards at 15 with a local rock band. I began writing and recording original music. I studied trumpet at the University of Nebraska with Denny Schieder 16-17 years. I also studied trumpet with Ricky Anderson. I had classical piano lessons during that period. At West Side High School I played in the concert band and jazz band as well as the marching band. In high school I studied with Tommy Newsom and Doc Severenson at two seminars. I played keyboards and trumpet in a Omaha jazz – rock band in high school.
After graduation from Westside High I moved to Kansas City to play in the jazz fusion band Hot Foot and Justus. In Kansas City I completed a two year course of study in jazz theory at the John Elliot School of music. I went to the University of Missouri at Kansas City and took general courses of study with a major in communications. I also studied photography at the Kansas City Art Institute.
I moved to Hawaii in 1981. I started playing music on Maui in 1982 in the band Mover and Steve Grimes. I played with Willy Nelson with Middle John in the Band the Boosters in 1987. In 1988 I worked with the Good Strokes Blues Band with Bobby Ingram and Tommy Hall.
In 1990 I began playing with and producing photography and music recordings for Marty Dread and Culture Shock. I played with Steven Stills and Barry Flanigan in 1992. I worked with Jimmy Mac in Mac’s Maniacs and the Cool Kats. I worked with Tim O’Hara and Espresso as well as the Country Knights band. In 2001 I began working with Crazy Fingers. Today I play with Crazy Fingers and freelance.
